My Colorful Dark World is an ongoing art project founded in 2019 by Chicago-based artist Quori Senyon.
Working through traditional painting, hand drawing, and digital illustration, Senyon brings together imagination, personal experiences, and storytelling. His work combines detailed compositions, recurring symbols, and original characters to explore different aspects of life through art. Whether working on canvas, paper, or digitally, each piece is carefully drawn or painted by hand. Drawing from over 25 years of experience as a professional tattoo artist, Senyon brings the same discipline, patience, and attention to detail to his paintings and illustrations. His longtime interest in space and science also plays an important role in shaping the worlds he creates.
At the heart of the project is Memoirs of a Space Pirate, an ongoing story in which individual artworks connect to a larger world. Through imagined places, characters, and symbolic imagery, Senyon draws inspiration from human experiences, creating work that allows viewers to discover their own meanings.
Over the years, the project has grown through original paintings, digital illustrations, sketches, and collections. Together, these works tell two stories: the unfolding world of My Colorful Dark World and the journey of an artist whose ideas and creative approach continue to evolve.
